Negative Sale Items for D365 Business Central Overview

This functionality can be used for coupons, redemptions, and other atypical items that require a negative sales price. These items are commonly configured as Non-Inventory items, but the Non-Inventory item type is not required for the extension to work.

Configuration

Negative Sale Items for D365 Business Central Item Setup

  1. Open the applicable Item Card.
  2. Expand Prices & Sales.
  3. Select Show more.
  4. Turn on Sales Use Negative Price.

After the setting is enabled, the item uses negative pricing when it is added to or edited on a supported sale.

Using the Extension

Add a Configured Item to a Sale

  1. Create or open a standard sales order or an LS Express sale.
  2. Add an item that has Sales Use Negative Price enabled.
  3. Review the sales line. The item price is made negative when the item is added or when the line is edited.
  4. If a user enters a positive price, the extension changes the price to a negative value.

Important Behavior

  • The user can change the item price.
  • A positive price entered for a configured item is converted to a negative price.
  • The feature applies to both standard sales orders and LS Express sales.

Coupon Item on a Standard Sales Order

  1. Configure the coupon item by turning on Sales Use Negative Price on the Item Card.
